MATCH REPORT
DEVON & EXETER LEAGUE, SENIOR ONE
SATURDAY 15 SEPTEMBER 2007
| EAST BUDLEIGH 2 | v | BUDLEIGH SALTERTON 1 |
As derby games go this was a very scrappy game. Budleigh got off to the worst possible start when they gifted their hosts a goal in the 3rd minute after another need less mix up. For the rest of the first half the game was mainly a midfield battle with chances very few for both sides. Rickard had one powerfull header cleared off the line after good defending from East Budleigh.
After the break Budleigh played some of their better football and Tony Pallett, Karl Rickard were having great games. But Budleigh were punished again for another weak clearance which was kicked straight down the strikers line and his header set Kelsaw free to score. With fifthteen minutes remaining Budleigh piled forward and pulled a goal back when Rich Higham poked home. Despite some great crosses late on from Carl Everest, Budleigh could not break through.
Next week Budleigh are home at last and take on Westexe 3pm ko.
