MATCH REPORT

DEVON & EXETER LEAGUE SENIOR ONE

SATURDAY 5 JANUARY 2008

BUDLEIGH SALTERTON  (1)  2
v
CULM (0) 1

Budleigh welcomed a strong Culm side to Greenway Lane and on a heavy pitch took the game to the visitors with a string of early corners. Despite Andy Bennett having two header's cleared off the line Budleigh waited till the 34th minute till Carl Lavis stroked home a twenty yard strike to give the host's a deserved half time lead.

Brad Evans made one superb save to keep Budleigh in front but Culm equalised with twenty minutes left.  Skipper Scott Howarth then came good with a superb cross and David Evans added a neat touch to seal the three points. In truth Budleigh will play better, and yet they still ran out worthy winner's to open an eight point lead at the top.  On a heavy pitch Tim Bradshaw and Carl Lavis perfomed well but Man of the match went toTONY PALLETT.
