Budleigh Salterton were back in league action this week, following their departure from the F.A Vase, losing 2 – 0 to Plymouth parkway in the replay last Wednesday.

Today they took a 1 – 0 lead after 15 minutes when Stuart Francis crossed in from the left and Danny Williams headed in from 6 yards. Williams was unlucky 8 minutes later when his floated shot from 30 yards cannoned off the cross bar. The best move of the match produced goal number 2 when Brett Wright’s run from midfield played the ball out to the right for Danny Burwood to dummy and allow the ball to run on to Neil Pointing. His cross from the right was headed in by Danny Hall. Crediton’s only real threat came on 35 minutes when David Cockroft forced Chris Wright to save and then he put the rebound into the side netting.

Early in the second half Budleigh Salterton wrapped the game up with their third goal when Neil Pointing became provider, crossing in from the right for man of the match Stuart Francis to head in at the back post.

Budleigh Salterton return to cup action again next week, at home to Clyst Rovers in the Throgmorton Cup, kick off 2.30pm.
