MATCH REPORT

SOUTH WEST PENISNSULA LEAGUE - DIVISION ONE (EAST)

SATURDAY 3 MAY 2008

BUDLEIGH SALTERTON   (1) 1
v
UNIVERSITY (0)  1

SAUNDERS

With several players being unavailable it gave Kevin Smith and Julian Phillips the opportunity to bring in five of the second team lads. Two of them started and the other three played their part coming on as second half subs. Budleigh Salterton started the match well going one up after only a minute when a Neil Pointing cross from the right was headed home by Neil Saunders. The nearest the University came to levelling the first half was right on half time. A long range shot from Tom Whipp had Chris Wright scrambling to the foot of his left hand post.

The visitors levelled on 54 minutes when a cross from Nick Robbins cleared Wright and dropped for Sam Hughes to convert from close range. For the rest of the game neither side looked like changing the score line, bringing down the curtain on football at Greenway Lane for this season.
