The Robins made a slow and uneasy start, allowing Plymstock to make the opening breaks. Martin Biles found some space on the edge of the 18 yard box but was denied by a well timed tackle from Martin Kelland. The first effort for the Robins came on 15 minutes when Stuart Francis crossed in from the left and found Danny Hall, who was denied by keeper Ben Elphick. The keeper was then called on to make another save, this time from pushing a 25 yarder from Matt Byrne round the post. Scoreless at half time.
Ten minutes into the second period the home side were again denied when Neil Kennedy had a shot blocked. The home keeper was again in action, saving from Ashley Barker who had been set up by Hall. Probably the best chance of the game fell to Kelland after 70 minutes. He stole in at the far post for a Byrne free kick, but managed to place his header just wide.
With Elphick being
the busiest keeper throughout the 90 minutes it was Plymstock who were probably
the happier with the draw.
