With 2 forwards missing the robins formed a new strike partnership with Danny Williams and Ashley Barker pairing up. The latter got himself on the score sheet after less than a minute. Matt Byrne dispossessed Andrew Roberts near the corner flag and provided the cross for Barker to open the scoring. 10 minutes later Chris Wright in the home goal did well to push a shot onto the post and from the clearance the ball fell to Byrne who volleyed in for a 2 - 0 lead. This effort was from about 40 yards after Byrne spotted Liam Jones well off his goal line. In the next 15 minutes Byrne scored two more goals to claim his hat trick. Just before half time Barker had a shot cannon back off the post. Half time 4 – 0.
Only 3 minutes into the second half and the visitors pulled a goal back, Rob Berry making the most of a mistake in the Budleigh Salterton defence. Teignmouth now had the wind behind them and took the game to Budleigh, making the counter attack easier. Danny Williams found more space to break through and add two more goals giving a final score of 6 – 1.
Budleigh Salterton
first team have no game next Saturday. The second team are at home to Culm
United, kick off 3pm, and extra support for them would be good to see. Then
