The Robins have now opened up a 4 point lead at the top of Division 1 Eastafter this rather poor performance with neither keeper having to make a save during the first half an hour. The Robins went close to scoring on 15 minutes when Plymstock were appealing for a penalty, a quick break saw Danny hall clear on goal only to fire a shot over the bar from 18 yards out. He made amends shortly after when his cross was mishandled by Ben Elphick and fell for Anthony Osbourne to make it 1 – 0, touching in from close range. Plymstock finished the half the stronger forcing several corner kicks which they were unable to capitalise on.
15 minutes into the second half Neil Saunders missed a chance to increase the lead when he headed a cross just over the bar. The introduction of Jamie Densham gave the Robins more pace and Plymstock more problems. It was not long before he shot from close range bringing a good save out of Elphick. With a minute to go Plymstock almost grabbed a share of the points. After a scramble in the Robins 6 yard box the ball was deflected just wide of Wright’s left hand post.
Next week the Robins travel to an in form Stoke Gabriel, kick off 2.15pm.
