With 10 minutes gone Budleigh had scored twice only for both efforts to be ruled out for offside. After 24 minutes Neil Saunders shot beat the keeper only to be cleared off the line. Saunders had another chance 6 minutes later when Jamie Densham had a header come back off the post. This time he made no mistake for 1 – 0.
With the pitch cutting up and light rain falling conditions were getting worse and players were finding it difficult. A free kick quickly taken by Matt Byrne caught the Buckfastleigh defence napping. The ball was flicked on by Danny Williams for Densham to slot home. Danny Hall went close with a couple of chances whilst at the other end Robin’s keeper Chris Wright had a trouble free afternoon with hardly a save to make. On 90 minutes Hall broke down the left and laid the ball in for Byrne, who had run from the half way line, to fire in and make it 3 – 0.
So we are now 2nd in the league, 3 points behind Newton Abbot with 2 games in hand.
Next week away again, at Totnes & Dartington, 2.15pm kick off.
