Budleigh Salterton kept up their wining run in the league with this fairly comfortable result against mid table Liverton. Joel Hawes set up Jamie Densham with the first scoring chance on 13 minutes, but his shot was deflected wide off the legs of Mike Lewis, the Liverton keeper. 5 minutes later Matt Byrne dispossessed Ben Newsome 20 yards from goal, jinked around the keeper and slotted in for a 1 – 0 lead. Just after the half hour mark Neil Pointing and Byrne combined well to set up Densham who made it 2 – 0. Just before half time the same player skipped past two defenders from 30 yards out only to fire into the side netting.

A minute into the second half Liverton missed a chance to pull a goal back when Luke Rudderham’s shot from 18 yards was well save by Chris Wright in the home goal. 10 minutes later the Robins increased their lead when Steve Reed brought Densham down in the box. Danny Williams stepped up to slot in the penalty to make it 3 – 0 and score the first of his hat trick. At 65 minutes he ran on to a long clearance which bounced over the Liverton defence, and then with two minutes remaining he got Budleigh’s fifth. He needed two shots, the first coming back to him off a defender, the second finding the back of the net.
