GALMPTON (1) 1 v BUDLEIGH SALTERTON   (4)  4

MORGAN

BURWOOD
WILLIAMS
HALL
HAWES

From the kick off the Robins lost possession on the edge of Galmpton 18 yard box. They launched a quick counter attack down the right hand side, ending with a fierce shot from close range by Jay Morgan which flew into the net off Chris Wright, giving the home side the lead after just 50 seconds. Budleigh then pressed for an equaliser missing several chances before Danny Burwood floated in a free kick from the right, about 30 yards out. This beat keeper Simon Primmor and went in off the back post on 18 minutes. Seven minutes later Budleigh went 2 – 1 up, cutting through the Galmpton defence with a good flowing move which ended with Danny Williams heading in from the back of the 6 yard box. Danny Hall made it 3 – 1 on the half hour with a close range shot, then turned provider 10 minutes later with a cross from the right which enabled Joel Hawes to make it 4 – 1 coming in from the back of the 6 yard box.

The second half lost its shape with too many long balls being played and neither side really threatening to change the scoreline. Budleigh agaijn had the best of the chances which were created.

A good result with quite a few players missing for various reasons. Scott Thornhill and David Evans were drafted in from the second team and both had a good game.

This Saturday the Robins are home to Liverton United, kick off 2.45pm.
