GIRLS FOOTBALL TEAM

It has been decided that we will look into the possibility of forming a girls team, hopefully at under 16, or under 15 or under 14 level to play on Sundays.

At present we have nothing so we need a manager and lots of interested girls / parents.  If anybody is interested please contact the web master (john@bsafc.co.uk or 01395 - 443769) in the first instance.

SUPPORTERS CLUB

The London Branch (Middlesex and Hertfordshire) will be making a trip to Budleigh to see the game against Stoke Gabriel on 1 March.  They have a membership of about 20 and are hoping for about 12 to make the pilgrimage to see The Robins.  It should be a good day, they enjoy their football and the socialising afterwards.

The latest grass cutter has been delivered to the club.  The image shows the sponsor of the machine, Mr Robert Benson of R Benson Property Maintenance Ltd "having a go at cutting the grass".  Groundsman, Andy Ellett, is over the moon with the new equipment telling everybody just how much easier it will make his job.

The improvement in the playing surface must be evident already judging by the comments of our visitors for the F A Vase game against Plymouth Parkway.

Budleigh Football Club would like to thank Peter for his sponsorship for the forth coming season.

We are very pleased that Andy Ellett has been handed the Devon league Groundsman of the year award this season.  In a letter to the club from Devon F.A Mr Graham Gordon writes:-

"The inspection committee was very impressed with the hard work that your groundsman had given to the pitch and its good condition considering the recent weather and the obvious heavy use of the pitch."

We add our own congratulations to Andy and, as ever, our grateful thanks for the work he puts in.
